Pharmacy Intern - Pharmacy (Evenings)

About the role

The intern is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in supplying drugs, fluids, and other services provided by the pharmacy. They are involved in observing and learning the accurate management of dispensing and clinical functions within the department, provision of information to other professionals, computer order entry, and provision of appropriate patient care as a member of the pharmaceutical care team. Job responsibilities and assignments may vary with demonstrated skills and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in supplying drugs, fluids, and other pharmacy services
• Observe and learn accurate management of dispensing and clinical functions
• Provide information to other healthcare professionals
• Perform computer order entry
• Participate in patient care as a member of the pharmaceutical care team

Requirements

• Three-year diploma from a college-level program or three years of college
• One year of related experience
• Working knowledge of standard practices and procedures
• Georgia Pharmacy Intern License

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy or involved in obtaining a pharmacist license in Georgia
• Ability to interact and work well in a team-oriented environment
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Professional and pleasant demeanor when dealing with departmental, interdepartmental, and public personnel
