About the role
PCHC’s Pharmacy Department is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to work within integrated care teams providing high-quality care and service to our patients. The intern will work alongside pharmacists and other team members to accurately dispense medications and maintain inventory, equipment, and records.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality customer service to our patients by demonstrating respect, kindness, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Support pharmacists in the preparation, organization, and dispensing of medications.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory, anticipate needed medications and supplies, and place/expedite orders as appropriate.
- Perform pharmacy cashier functions, collecting and reconciling payment for prescriptions and pharmacy merchandise.
- Absorb and support patients to ensure they feel heard, respected, and involved in their care.
- Collaborate with pharmacy and practice teams to improve the patient experience and clinic processes.
Requirements
- Registered as a Pharmacy Intern in the state of Maine.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and/or an appropriate length of driving experience for insurance purposes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

Pay
- Per-Diem, Flexible Schedule Depending on Operational Needs + Your Availability (Pharmacy Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-6pm/Saturday 9am-5pm. While this position may be asked to cover pharmacy sites across PCHC, the home base/primary location for this position will be Penobscot Community Health Center on Union Street in Bangor. Mileage is reimbursable per PCHC's Business Travel & Expense Reimbursement Policy).
