Pharmacy Intern - Inpatient PRN

About the role

This role is an Intern position in the Pharmacy department at Cleveland Clinic Euclid Hospital. The intern will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of patient care and medication management.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug-related issues.
• Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
• Compound and prepare medications for delivery to patient care areas.
• Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
• Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.

Requirements

• Enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy Program meeting education requirements to qualify for an Intern License in the State of Ohio OR international pharmacy experience meeting the requirements to qualify for the Foreign Graduate Pharmacy Intern License.
• A current State Board of Pharmacy Intern License (PH/INT) before hire.

Pay

• Minimum hourly wage: $23.00
• Maximum hourly wage: $23.00

Schedule

• Variable schedule, including shifts such as 6:00am–2:30pm in the Main Unit, 7:30am–4:00pm in the IV Unit, or 11:30am–8:00pm on the Swing Shift.
• Every 4th weekend required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, reach, stretch, and sit for prolonged periods.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions of the job.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
