About the role

The Intern Pharmacist will integrate into the clinical, teaching, research and distribution system for UC San Diego Health System and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. All job activities of the Intern will be under direct supervision of a Pharmacist.

Responsibilities

• Integrate into the clinical, teaching, research and distribution system for UC San Diego Health System and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
• Perform a full range of duties in a specialized functional area and able to perform all general tasks in all areas of the pharmacy.
• Absorb and prepare medications for patient use (oral and parenteral) according to established procedures.
• Aid in the distribution of medications.
• Perform computer order entry, record keeping, and billing functions.
• Maintain inventory levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Intern Pharmacist License with the California State Board of Pharmacy.
• Current UCSD Skaggs School of Pharmacy student.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service and counseling skills.
• Ability to operate computer systems.
• Demonstrated teaching skills and writing skills.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
• Part-time or full-time work experiences in pharmacy.

Pay

Annual Full Pay Range: $60,448 - $84,564 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%).
