Pharmacy Intern

Responsibilities

• Assists the Pharmacist in the support of the drug distribution systems including patient counseling and pharmacokinetic calculations
• Participates in performance improvement and data collections activities
• Prepares dosage, sterile admixtures using aseptic technique, delivers floor stock, packages, bills, receives, and stocks
• Provides pharmaceutical care for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Engages in inventory control, controlled substances distribution, documentation and accountability, assists in inspections of medication storage areas, and maintains cleanliness of the department
• Performs tasks under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, verifying prescriptions, filling them, taking payment, and interacting with customers

Qualifications

• Current enrollment as a Pharmacy Student
• Current State Board of Pharmacy Certificate of Pharmacy Intern
