Responsibilities
- Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
- Following company SOPs at each workstation
- Pharmacy workflow procedures
- Providing empathetic and caring service
- Handling telephonic prescriptions
- Maintaining inventory activities
- Supporting immunizations
- Assisting the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt and accurate prescription fulfillment, and caring service
- Operating as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of SOPs, best practices, and effective communication
- Demonstrating empathy and genuine care in patient interactions, offering counseling, fielding medical questions, and soliciting patient information
- Completing basic inventory activities, as permitted by law, and participating in team dynamics
- Supporting additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinic staffing
- Complying with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles, and adhering to CVS policies and procedures
Requirements
- Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
- Possession, or being in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Attention and focus, including concentration on tasks and pivoting quickly between tasks
- Customer service and team orientation, including actively looking for ways to help people and responding appropriately
- Effective communication, including using and understanding verbal and written communication
- Mathematical reasoning, including using math to solve problems
- Problem resolution, including identifying and resolving challenging interactions
- Physical demands, including mobility, reaching, lifting, and bending
Qualifications
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to become immunization certified once state regulations are met
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
