Pharmacy Intern

Responsibilities

• Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
  • Following company SOPs at each workstation
  • Pharmacy workflow procedures
  • Providing empathetic and caring service
  • Counseling and fielding medical questions
  • Telephonic prescription handling
  • Maintaining inventory activities
  • Supporting immunizations and other patient health care services
• Increasing responsibility in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of pharmacy operations, including:
  • Managing and improving patient health
  • Ensuring prescription safety and accuracy
  • Providing compassionate care and resolving patient issues
  • Offering vaccinations and other services
  • Training and mentoring pharmacy team members
  • Completing inventory activities
  • Supporting immunizations

Required Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
• Possession, or process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required

Essential Functions

• Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
• Concentration on tasks over extended periods
• Quickly pivoting between tasks to meet patient and business needs
• Confirming prescription information and label accuracy
• Communicating effectively with patients and colleagues
• Using math to solve problems, such as determining the total number of tablets to dispense
• Resolving challenging patient or colleague interactions
• Maintaining physical stamina for extended periods
• Performing tasks requiring fine motor skills and precision
• Handling items of varying weights and sizes
• Exchanging detailed information verbally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to become immunization certified once state regulations are met
• Experience working in home store and across the market in other locations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is $20.00 - $23.75.
