Pharmacy Intern

Responsibilities

• Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
  • Following company SOPs at each workstation
  • Pharmacy workflow procedures
  • Providing empathetic and caring service
  • Telephonic prescription handling
  • Inventory activities
  • Supporting immunizations
• Assisting the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt and accurate prescription fulfillment, and patient satisfaction
• Operating as part of the pharmacy team, applying Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices
• Learning to demonstrate empathy and genuine care in customer interactions
• Maintaining self-awareness and providing in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members
• Completing basic inventory activities as permitted by law
• Contributing to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback
• Remaining flexible for both scheduling and business needs, and contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
• Voluntarily traveling to stores in the market to work shifts as needed by the business
• Understanding and complying with relevant laws and regulations, and adhering to CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety
• Delivering additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics
• Supporting immunizations by completing additional licensure and training requirements, educating patients, monitoring adverse reactions, and documenting patient information

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
• Possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
