Pharmacy Intern

Responsibilities

• Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
  • Following company SOPs at each workstation
  • Pharmacy workflow procedures
  • Providing empathetic and caring service
  • Counseling patients and answering medical questions
  • Taking telephonic prescriptions and clarifying prescriptions
  • Maintaining inventory activities
  • Supporting immunizations and other patient health care services
• Assisting the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt prescription fulfillment, and patient safety
• Operating as part of the pharmacy team, applying Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices
• Learning to operate with empathy and genuine care, demonstrating compassion and solving or escalating patient problems
• Offering to counsel, fielding medical questions, and soliciting information on a patient's medical history
• Completing basic inventory activities, as permitted by law
• Contributing to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback
• Remaining flexible for both scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
• Voluntarily traveling to stores in the market to work shifts as needed by the business
• Supporting immunizations, including completing additional licensure and training requirements, educating patients about the importance of vaccines, monitoring for adverse reactions, and reviewing and collecting patient information

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
• Possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
• 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to become immunization certified once state regulations are met
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
