Responsibilities
- Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
- Following company SOPs at each workstation
- Pharmacy workflow procedures
- Providing empathetic and caring service
- Telephonic prescription handling
- Inventory activities
- Supporting immunizations
- Assisting the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt and accurate prescription fulfillment, and patient satisfaction
- Operating as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of SOPs, best practices, and effective communication
- Learning to demonstrate empathy and genuine care in patient interactions
- Offering counseling, answering medical questions, and gathering patient information
- Maintaining high levels of self-awareness and providing coaching and mentoring to team members
- Completing basic inventory activities and assisting with cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories
- Contributing to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback
- Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs, and fostering a safe and inclusive team dynamic
- Voluntarily traveling to stores in the market to work shifts as needed by the business
- Understanding and complying with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles
- Complying with CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and security
- Delivering additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics
Qualifications
- Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
- Possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
- Attention and focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time, pivot quickly, and confirm prescription information accuracy
- Customer service and team orientation: Actively looking for ways to help people, responding appropriately, and understanding patients' reactions
- Communication skills: Using and understanding verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues, utilizing active listening, and conveying detailed information
- Mathematical reasoning: Using math to solve problems, such as determining the total number of tablets to dispense
- Problem resolution: Identifying challenging interactions and choosing the best course of action
- Physical demands: Being mobile and remaining upright for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, reaching overhead, stretching, and bending
