Responsibilities

  • Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
    • Following company SOPs at each workstation
    • Pharmacy workflow procedures
    • Providing empathetic and caring service
    • Handling medical questions and counseling patients
    • Telephonic prescription processing
    • Self-awareness and in-the-moment coaching
    • Basic inventory activities
  • Assisting the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt and accurate prescription fulfillment, and caring service
  • Operating as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of SOPs, best practices, and effective communication
  • Learning to demonstrate empathy and genuine care in various interactions with patients
  • Offering to counsel, field medical questions, and gather patient information under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Taking telephonic prescriptions, clarifying prescriptions, facilitating medication changes, and reporting adverse reactions
  • Maintaining a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback
  • Supporting additional patient health care services, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinic staffing, where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification
  • Supporting immunizations by completing additional licensure and training requirements, educating patients, monitoring adverse reactions, and reviewing patient information

Requirements

  • Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
  • Possession, or being in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time, pivot quickly, and confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Active listening, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to use math to solve problems
  • Problem resolution skills, including identifying and addressing challenging patient or colleague interactions
  • Physical demands, including mobility, reaching overhead, stretching, lifting up to 20 lbs., and bending

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to become immunization certified once state regulations are met
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
