Responsibilities
- Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
- Following company SOPs at each workstation
- Pharmacy workflow procedures
- Providing empathetic and caring patient experiences
- Handling telephonic prescriptions
- Maintaining inventory activities
- Supporting immunizations
- Assisting the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt and accurate prescription fulfillment, and caring service
- Operating as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of SOPs, best practices, and effective communication
- Demonstrating empathy and genuine care in patient interactions, offering counseling, fielding medical questions, and soliciting patient information
- Taking telephonic prescriptions, clarifying prescriptions, facilitating medication changes, and supporting immunizations
- Maintaining self-awareness, providing in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring, and sharing best practices
- Completing basic inventory activities and contributing to a high-performing team
- Understanding and complying with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles, and adhering to CVS policies and procedures
- Delivering additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and volunteering at offsite clinics
Required Qualifications
- Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
- Possession, or process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Essential Functions
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly to meet patient and business needs
- Attention to detail and focus on accuracy in confirming prescription information
- Effective communication skills, including active listening and clear expression of ideas
- Mathematical reasoning and problem-solving abilities
- Physical demands, including mobility, reaching, lifting, and bending
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to become immunization certified once state regulations are met
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
