Pharmacy Intern

Responsibilities

• Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
  • Following company SOPs at each workstation
  • Pharmacy workflow procedures
  • Providing empathetic and caring patient experiences
  • Handling medical questions and counseling patients
  • Telephonic prescription processing
  • Maintaining inventory activities
  • Supporting immunizations
• Increasing responsibility in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of operations in the pharmacy, including:
  • Managing and improving patient health
  • Ensuring safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Offering vaccinations and other services
  • Providing compassionate care
  • Coaching and mentoring pharmacy team members
  • Completing inventory activities
  • Supporting immunizations

Required Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
• Possession, or being in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required

Essential Functions

• Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
• Concentration on tasks over extended periods
• Quick pivoting between tasks to meet patient and business needs
• Accuracy in confirming prescription information and labeling
• Active listening and clear communication with patients and colleagues
• Mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Physical demands including mobility, reaching, lifting, and bending

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to become immunization certified
• Experience working in home store and across the market
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
