Pharmacy Intern

Responsibilities

• Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
  • Following company SOPs at each workstation
  • Pharmacy workflow procedures
  • Providing empathetic and caring service
  • Telephonic prescription handling
  • Inventory activities
  • Supporting immunizations
• Assisting the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt and accurate prescription fulfillment, and patient satisfaction
• Operating as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of SOPs, best practices, and effective communication
• Learning to demonstrate empathy and genuine care in patient interactions
• Offering counseling, answering medical questions, and gathering patient information under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
• Maintaining high levels of self-awareness and providing coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members
• Completing basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership
• Contributing to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback
• Remaining flexible for both scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
• Voluntarily traveling to stores in the market to work shifts as needed by the business
• Understanding and complying with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
• Complying with CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety, compliance with controlled substance dispensing and recordkeeping, and protection of patient privacy and security
• Delivering additional patient health care services, including immunizations, where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
• Possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
