Pharmacy Intern

Responsibilities

• Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
  • Following company SOPs at each workstation
  • Pharmacy workflow procedures
  • Providing empathetic and caring service
  • Handling telephonic prescriptions
  • Maintaining inventory activities
  • Supporting immunizations
• Assisting the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt and accurate prescription fulfillment, and caring service.
• Learning to operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication.
• Demonstrating empathy and genuine care in interactions with patients, offering counseling, answering medical questions, and gathering patient information.
• Completing basic inventory activities, as permitted by law, and participating in team dynamics.
• Supporting immunizations, including obtaining necessary certifications, educating patients, monitoring adverse reactions, and documenting patient information.

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Possession, or being in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings (preferred).
• Ability to become immunization certified once state regulations are met.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
