Responsibilities
- Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
- Following company SOPs at each workstation
- Pharmacy workflow procedures
- Providing empathetic and caring service
- Handling medical questions and counseling patients
- Telephonic prescription processing
- Self-awareness and in-the-moment coaching
- Basic inventory activities
- Assisting the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt and accurate prescription fulfillment, and caring service
- Operating as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of SOPs, best practices, and effective communication
- Learning to demonstrate empathy and genuine care, and contributing to a safe and inclusive culture
- Supporting additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinic staffing, where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification
Required Qualifications
- Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
- Possession, or being in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Essential Functions
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Attention and focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time, pivot quickly between tasks, and confirm prescription information and label accuracy
- Customer service and team orientation: Actively looking for ways to help people, responding to patients' reactions appropriately, and utilizing active listening
- Communication skills: Using and understanding verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues, and educating patients about the importance of vaccines
- Mathematical reasoning: Using math to solve problems, such as determining the total number of tablets to dispense
- Problem resolution: Identifying and resolving challenging patient or colleague interactions
- Physical demands: Being mobile and remaining upright for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, reaching overhead, stretching, and bending
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to become immunization certified once state regulations are met
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
