Responsibilities
- Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
- Following company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists and Technicians manage and improve patient health.
- Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care.
- Taking telephonic prescriptions from the prescriber and clarifying prescriptions or facilitating medication changes.
- Maintaining the highest level of self-awareness and providing in-the-moment coaching and mentoring.
- Completing basic inventory activities as permitted by law.
- Supporting immunizations by obtaining Technician Immunizer status and preparing and administering vaccines.
- Monitoring for and responding to adverse reactions and reporting them.
- Collecting and documenting patient information.
- Increasing responsibility in safety and effectiveness of operations, including:
- Ensuring the safety and effectiveness of operations in the pharmacy.
- Assisting the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operation of pharmacy functions.
- Providing care that exceeds patient expectations.
- Operating as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of SOPs, best practices, and effective communication.
- Contributing to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback.
- Remaining flexible for both scheduling and business needs.
- Supporting additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics.
Requirements
- Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time.
- Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs.
- Attention to detail and ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Ability to use math to solve problems, such as determining the total number of tablets to dispense.
- Ability to identify and resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions.
- Ability to lift and move items as needed.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to become immunization certified once state regulations are met.
- Ability to work in home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
