Responsibilities
- Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
- Following company SOPs at each workstation
- Pharmacy workflow procedures
- Providing empathetic and caring service
- Counseling patients and fielding medical questions
- Taking telephonic prescriptions and clarifying prescriptions
- Maintaining inventory activities
- Supporting immunizations, including vaccine preparation and administration
- Assisting the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt and accurate prescription fulfillment, and caring service
- Operating as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of SOPs, best practices, and effective communication
- Learning to demonstrate empathy and genuine care, and contributing to a safe and inclusive culture
- Complying with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles, and complying with CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety
- Delivering additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinic staffing, where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification
Required Qualifications
- Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
- Possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
Essential Functions
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
- Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
- Attention to detail and accuracy in confirming prescription information and labeling
- Active listening and clear communication skills
- Mathematical reasoning and problem-solving abilities
- Physical demands including mobility, reaching overhead, stretching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Ability to become immunization certified once state regulations are met
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
