Pharmacy Intern

Responsibilities

• Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
  • Following company SOPs at each workstation
  • Pharmacy workflow procedures
  • Creating heartfelt and personalized moments for patients
  • Offering medical counseling and answering patient questions
  • Telephonic prescription handling and clarification
  • Maintaining inventory and cycle counts
  • Supporting immunizations and other patient health care services
• Assisting the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt and accurate prescription fulfillment, and patient satisfaction
• Operating as part of the pharmacy team, applying Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication
• Providing empathetic and caring service, demonstrating compassion, and contributing to a safe and inclusive workplace
• Complying with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles, and adhering to CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and security
• Supporting additional patient health care services, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinic staffing, where applicable

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
• Possession, or process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
• Experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings (preferred)
• Ability to become immunization certified once state regulations are met
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
