Pharmacy Intern

Responsibilities

• Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) that build aptitude in areas such as:
  • Following company SOPs at each workstation
  • Pharmacy workflow procedures
  • Providing empathetic and caring service
  • Counseling patients and answering medical questions
  • Taking telephonic prescriptions and clarifying prescriptions
  • Maintaining inventory activities
  • Supporting immunizations and other patient health care services
• Assisting the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operation, prompt and accurate prescription fulfillment, and caring service
• Operating as part of the pharmacy team by applying Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication
• Demonstrating empathy and genuine care in patient interactions, offering vaccinations, and solving or escalating patient problems
• Participating in team dynamics, remaining flexible, and seeking opportunities to expand knowledge
• Complying with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles, and adhering to CVS policies and procedures
• Supporting additional patient health care services, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinic staffing

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy
• Possession or process of obtaining valid intern and/or technician licensure as required
• Experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings
• Ability to become immunization certified once state regulations are met
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
