About the role
Step behind the counter as a pharmacy customer service associate and help customers find better health through innovative solutions and exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Registers sales on assigned cash register, providing courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
- Assists the pharmacist under direct supervision, obtaining patient and drug information and processing prescriptions.
- Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
- Processes customer purchases, handling voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed.
- Keeps counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, taking inventory and maintaining records.
- Fills prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying accuracy, and checking for interactions.
- Reports and handles prescription errors promptly, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Supports inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
- Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
- Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional and seasonal merchandise.
- Assists with separation of food items and product placement, using the first in, first out method.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster printing, and suggestive sell of promotional photo products.
- Assists with external and internal store maintenance, ensuring a clean and orderly environment.
- Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Earns and maintains PTCB certification through designated training programs and/or state required certification/registration.
- Attends training and completes PPLs, acquiring continuing education credits and maintaining knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy.
Requirements
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends.
- Experience in a retail environment preferred, especially with Walgreens.
- Good math and computer skills preferred.
- Knowledge of store inventory control preferred.
- PTCB certification preferred.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass a background check and drug test.
