Pharmacy Contact Sourcing Specialist - Full-Time Days - Detroit - Elijah McCoy

General Summary

The Pharmacy Contract Sourcing Specialist reports to the Pharmacy Director – Drug Use Policy and Pharmacy Sourcing at Henry Ford Health. They work closely with managers and staff in other areas of the Henry Ford Health Pharmacy Product Line as assigned. They support the pharmacy purchasing office(s) within the Henry Ford Health Pharmacy Product Line, as a member of the Pharmacy Commodity Team within Henry Ford Health.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

• Serves as a liaison to inpatient and ambulatory clinic leaders to monitor and communicate medication purchase and distribution discrepancies with aid to resolution.
• Sets out best pricing opportunities whenever available through approval channels and vendors.
• Serves as the primary resource for the application-specific creation of user IDs and passwords specific to the pharmacy purchasing software application.
• Maintains User IDs in user database/server and collaborates with area leaders on integrity of users.
• Maintains vendor and drug database with additions and deletions of medications and or vendors within the pharmacy purchasing software application.
• Orders pharmaceuticals and related supplies that are necessary for supporting pharmaceutical care within an integrated health system.
• Meets with pharmaceutical vendors, distributors and providers and ensures all pricing is accurately reflected and loaded for the system.
• Reviews and processes purchase requisitions that can include both expense and capital requests.
• Confers with requesters regarding specifications, delivery requirements, and other special needs.
• Solves discrepancies between receipts and purchase order requirements.
• Solves invoice discrepancies and probable causes of non-payment.
