Pharmacy Clerk - Specialty - Full Time Days - Pharmacy Advantage

Location: Pharmacy Advantage, Rochester Hills

About the role

Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, assists in the stocking and storage of inventory, filing of prescription records, and operation of the POS system. Delivers completed prescription orders to patients in clinics and hospitals, and assists in shipping packages to patients' homes or offices.

Responsibilities

• Assists where allowed by law in the processing of pharmacy orders.
• Puts away medications on shelves in their appropriate locations and marks opened drug bottles with a bold X.
• Straightens and inventories all over-the-counter medications.
• Operates the POS system in the ambulatory setting, rings up patients, and collects payments when possible.
• Creates delivery slips for subsequent delivery to clinics or patients and prepares labels for courier pick-ups.
• Creates A/R accounts for patients when needed.
• Monitors address changes for package shipping and customer requests for different delivery sites.
• Organizes and files prescriptions numerically for ten-year retention.
• Promotes a professional and friendly atmosphere for all pharmacy customers and staff.
• Assists customers with problem resolution.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, or currently attending high school at senior level status with authorization to work.
• Ability to lift, carry, and stack up to 40 lbs. of pharmacy inventory.
• Ability to work effectively with others.

Schedule

Full Time - 40 hours, rotating shifts
