About the Role
Weis Markets is seeking a Pharmacy Associate to deliver superior customer service and provide operational support within the pharmacy department. This role involves assisting customers at the register, processing prescriptions, and working collaboratively with pharmacists and technicians to ensure a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Smile and greet customers, answer non-medical questions, perform suggestive selling, handle special requests, and assist in resolving minor customer issues promptly and courteously.
- Assist customers at the register by processing sales of prescriptions, OTC products, groceries, and other various items for sale.
- Identify customer needs, help locate products, and promote products and services; work with pharmacists to resolve any customer issues or problems.
- Operate and maintain working knowledge of equipment including the register, phones, and other department equipment.
- Retrieve prescriptions and prescription refills from customers and obtain necessary information required for prescription processing while partnering with technicians and pharmacists to assign wait times.
- Assist customers in completing first-time patient information documents using a patient information form; request insurance or patient discount cards and make copies for pharmacy records.
- Provide customer assistance during prescription pick-up by retrieving prescriptions from will call, scanning prescriptions to verify correct selection, and gathering electronic signatures for HIPAA acknowledgment and third-party payment in accordance with company policies.
- Unpack and put away pharmacy orders within the department.
- Provide operational support to the pharmacists on duty and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Report any suspected prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately.
- Follow all department policies and procedures and comply with state and federal regulations.
- Perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications
- Completed or working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Valid driver's license for business travel purposes.
