Pharmacy Assistant- Part Time

Position Highlights

What You’ll Do

• Answers the phone and handles non-professional level inquiries
• Enters patient data and billing information in the system
• Delivers prescriptions to patients and verifies correct medication
• Collects payment and signatures from patients
• Counsels patients on prescription medications as needed
• Maintains stock levels and orders restocking items
• Verifies and processes prescription orders with wholesalers
• Completes third-party billing forms and contacts providers
• Performs clinical responsibilities aligned with TJC, HRSA, and YVFWC requirements
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of pharmacy assistant, office, administrative, patient care, or customer service experience
• Pharmacy Assistant state registration required within 60 days of hire (or active Pharmacy Intern License)
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking skills required at a level 9
• Effective verbal and listening communication skills with a customer-oriented approach
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing, faxing, scanning, and copying
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Basic proficiency with a variety of computer systems including Microsoft Office preferred
• Basic knowledge of a minimum of one pharmacy software system preferred
