Pharmacy Assistant - (Campus Flex)
About the role
This is a pool position with no guarantee of hours. It is a Campus Flex position covered under the UFCW 3000 contract, allowing this role to support multiple departments or locations. Pharmacy Assistants assist pharmacists in the routine, day-to-day functions of pharmacy practice to ensure successful operation. They collaborate with pharmacists to improve the quality of patient care and are supervised by licensed pharmacists who verify the accuracy of their work.
Position reports to: Pharmacy Manager.
Responsibilities
- Answer phones, door, and pharmacy window in a courteous and timely manner.
- Screen and direct calls, take/forward messages, and relay information accurately.
- Retrieve and distribute inter-office/external mail, faxes, and messages.
- Track, retrieve, and organize stored data (on and off-site).
- Enter and maintain patient demographic, medical, and insurance information using a computer system.
- Process third-party billing and reconciliation.
- Assist in ordering and stocking supplies, OTCs, and legend drugs; process returns to wholesaler.
- Assist in inventory control and monthly checks for outdated medications.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures related to narcotic documentation, distribution, and record keeping.
- Operate a cash register and charge card terminal; balance cash drawer at end of shift.
- Count and pour from stock bottles for individual prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Count and pour from stock bottles for telepharmacy prepacks under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining the cleanliness of the department.
- Package medication and supplies; coordinate courier delivery of packages daily.
- Deliver Hospice medications to patients or facilities as required using a company vehicle.
- Perform other activities/responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the pharmacy department.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Communicate positively and effectively in a team approach with co-workers within and outside the department.
- Orient, train, and be regularly scheduled across both campuses.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.
Requirements
- Washington State Pharmacy Assistant License.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License and bondable driving record.
- Basic computer skills related to Windows navigation, mouse usage, accurate keyboarding, email communication, and password management.
Qualifications (Desired)
- Bilingual – Spanish with the ability to pass a Qualified Interpreter Evaluation from a Confluence Health chosen vendor.
- Previous pharmacy assistant experience.

Pay
Salary Range: $18.26 - $29.19 per hour. FLSA: Non-Exempt.
