Pharmacists

Pharmacist position interpreting physician prescriptions and medication orders, serving as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff, and ancillary departments. Responsibilities include compounding and dispensing prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Pharmacy degree preferred or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy
• Graduate from accredited School of Pharmacy
• Education covering all age groups (newborn to geriatric) obtained through school, experience, or subsequent training

Experience

• Minimum 1 year hospital pharmacy experience or equivalent
• One year ASHP accredited hospital pharmacy residency or equivalent preferred
• Management training or equivalent managerial experience preferred

Skills

• Effective communication in English (verbal and written); additional languages preferred
• Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Basic computer knowledge
• Experience with automated pharmacy systems, IV Laminar Flow Hood, or Glove Box for intravenous preparation
• Self-directed, motivated, and capable of overseeing support personnel
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word (required), Excel (required), and PowerPoint (preferred)
• Experience with Pyxis or other automated dispensing machines (preferred)
• Electronic Medical Record experience (required)

Licenses & Certifications

• Current Pharmacist licensure in the State of Arizona
• Current BLS/CPR certification
