About the role

The Pharmacy Trainee (P1-P3) at Central City Concern acts under a Pharmacy Intern license to support the Pharmacist in processing prescriptions and maintaining the Pharmacy Department. This role involves floating between Old Town Clinic Pharmacy and Blackburn Pharmacy as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties necessary to ensure the safe and accurate preparation of medications, including gathering patient information, entering it into the computer system, counting and pouring medications, and labeling containers.
  • Prepare refill requests for providers using the refill protocol.
  • Aid in department projects and presentations as assigned.
  • Maintain excellent customer service, including answering questions from patients, answering phones, preparing refill requests, and responding to questions from staff and patient care team.
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security.
  • Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners' and outside providers' patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access.
  • Immediately report any breach of protected health information or personal identification information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.
  • Attend all mandatory CCC trainings in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern.
  • Prior experience in an outpatient pharmacy setting preferred.
  • Must meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA.
  • Currently certified to provide CPR and immunizations.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift objects and climb stairs several times per day.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform duties.
  • Must pass pre-employment screen, TB test, and background check, including clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit.
  • Ability to adhere to Central City Concern’s drug-free workplace policy.
  • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, cultural backgrounds, life-styles and sexual orientations and treat each individual with respect and dignity.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include current registration with the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern.
