Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret reports, implement, and monitor loss prevention and safety controls.
- Oversee safety, operational, and quality assurance reviews.
- Develop and implement action plans.
- Provide direction and guidance on executing organization programs and strategic initiatives.
- Offer consultations to every patient on pick up not through a pharmacy technician but personally.
- Encourage associates to serve as a good member of the community.
- Ensure confidentiality of information, documentation, and assigned records.
- Create documents, enter data into spreadsheets, and generate/write memoranda, notices, and reports.
- Visually inspect equipment to ensure good working order.
- Prepare the pharmacy for any HRSA, OSV, OPA, County, and Joint Commissions audits or additional type of audit or review.
- Ensure hazardous waste and expired medications are being treated accordingly with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Fills health center-used medication and med rooms.
- Fills home delivery orders in a timely manner to ensure prompt care to patients' health needs.
- Process returning non picked up prescriptions to stock in a timely manner to prevent third-party insurance fraud.
- Provide patient care by processing and accurately dispensing orders, administering immunizations, counseling patients, and maintaining confidential information, controlled medication, and required documentation.
- Follow all pharmacy and therapeutics committee’s policies, procedures, and formulary decisions.
- Ensure compliance with any State approved programs that maximize pharmacist clinical roles upon Physicians' Standing orders or collaborative agreement.
- Network internally and externally to build trusting, collaborative relationships and alliances.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Other duties assigned by supervisor, as required.
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy towards patients.
- Excellent communication skills, critical thinking skills, the ability to handle stressful situations, the capacity to function independently, have a varied clinical experience, and the ability to document meticulously.
- Completion of accredited pharmacy program with certification/degree.
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacy related experience preferred.
- A valid, active California Board of pharmacy license in good standing.
- CPR certified.
- PHI Certificate.
- An interest in working in a community health center setting.
- Completion of ACPE accredited immunization training program when needed.
- The ability to relate to the public regardless of ethnic, religious and economic status.
- Basic computer and typing skills with ability to enter and locate information on computer.
- The ability to effectively communicate in person or by using telecommunication equipment.
- The ability to create documents, enter data into spreadsheets, and generate/write memoranda, notices, and reports.
- The ability to visually inspect equipment to ensure good working order.
