Job Summary

Job Shift: Rotate

Job Type: Full Time

Up to $5,000 sign‑on bonus for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months.

The Staff Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care services to patients, including oversight, monitoring, preparation, dispensing, and proper documentation of patient medication therapy, as well as providing drug information, patient information, and oversight of information and dispensing systems. Additionally, the role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and may advise physicians on medication utilization.

Responsibilities

• Provide pharmaceutical care services, including oversight, monitoring, preparation, dispensing, and documentation of medication therapy.
• Deliver drug information and patient counseling.
• Oversee medication information and dispensing systems.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Advise physicians on medication utilization as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE‑accredited school of Pharmacy (preferred).
• Hospital pharmacy experience in unit dose and IV admixture (preferred).
• Strong communication skills and ability to relate effectively to hospital staff, department heads, administration, and medical staff.
• Current and valid Florida license as a Registered Pharmacist (required).
• Pharmacy license; BLS certification within 30 days of hire (required). ACLS and/or PALS if code attendance is required.
• Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS), CGP, or similar (preferred).

About the Organization

West Boca Medical Center (WBMC) is part of the Palm Beach Health Network and has been serving southern Palm Beach and northern Broward counties for over 37 years. WBMC offers general medical and surgical care, orthopedics, a robotic surgery program, a state‑of‑the‑art breast imaging center, women’s and children’s services, and the only Level III NICU in southern Palm Beach County. Its two emergency centers, one at the main hospital and the other in Coconut Creek, are open 24 hours a day.
