In this as-needed role, the pharmacist supports the full lifecycle of medication use across various outpatient care sites, providing direct clinical intervention, patient advocacy, and expert consultation on complex pediatric regimens. Utilizing Collaborative Drug Therapy Agreements (CDTAs), the individual in this role optimizes patient outcomes and maintains seamless operational flow during assigned shifts. Beyond clinical management, the pharmacist provides vital shift-based operational oversight by directing the medication use process and strictly enforcing regulatory guidelines to ensure the integrity of drug storage and preparation. The role also serves as a dedicated mentor and resource for pharmacy learners, staff, and families alike, bridging the gap between complex pharmacy science and compassionate bedside care. Ultimately, this flexible position upholds a culture of safety, workflow consistency, and continuous professional development across all scheduled outpatient service locations.
