Pharmacist-PRN

About the Role

A Registered Professional Pharmacist at Erlanger Medical Center is responsible for providing and embracing pharmaceutical care for all patients. This includes reviewing patient orders and charts, interacting with healthcare providers and patients, and delivering appropriate drug therapy and clinical pharmaceutical services.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition support and clinical pharmacy services and education.
• Supervise and monitor Pharmacy Residents.
• Perform all duties of a registered Pharmacist, including documenting clinical interventions.
• Process all medication orders following procedures appropriate to the practice area.
• Check Med Carts quickly and accurately, documenting any noted errors.
• Adapt to changing work conditions based on the volume and acuity level of the patient population.
• Operate CRT screens, phones, computers, printers, and calculators.
• Work effectively with patients, hospital personnel, and support agencies.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor's of Science Degree from an American Council on Pharmaceutical Education accredited program.
• Current and valid license to practice pharmacy in the State of Tennessee.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, based on business needs and departmental requirements.
• Knowledge of general pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical care with emphasis on hospital practice.
• Ability to practice pharmaceutical care in a variety of settings and situations.
• Sound judgment, organizational ability, and above-average written, oral communication, and interpersonal relationship skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in hospital pharmacy practice.
• Knowledge of organizational functions, policies, and regulations.
• Awareness of current trends and new developments in pharmacy.

Location: Erlanger Baroness Hospital, Chattanooga, TN. This is a PRN (as-needed) position with standard temporary hours.
