About the role

Operation PAR, Inc. is a non-profit organization offering the full continuum of services for individuals with substance use and/or mental health disorders. PAR has been providing comprehensive behavioral health treatment in west Florida since 1970 through advocacy, education, clinical services, and research.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, coordinates, and supervises all pharmaceutical services.
  • Oversees compliance with all Federal and State laws regarding pharmaceuticals.
  • Ensures patient safety and inventory control.
  • Provides reports and maintains pharmacy licenses and permits.
  • Holds best practices in areas regarding pharmacy issues.
  • Local daily travel in personal vehicle to various facilities required in Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties.
  • Rotational on-call requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a degree in Pharmacy.
  • Active Consultant Pharmacist license.
  • One-year minimum experience as a consultant pharmacist. Addiction and/or mental health experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of State and Federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of cost effective measures in inventory control.
  • Knowledge of best practices in substance abuse and mental health pharmaceutical uses.
  • Knowledge of pharmacology to include the initiation, selection and the modification of selected drug regimen.
  • Establishes and maintains effective positive, productive working relationships with other employees and the public.
  • Responds in a courteous, pleasant manner and provides in-service education.
  • Develops quality standards and reports and functions independently.

Benefits

Skills

  • Ability to write accurately and legibly.
  • Moderate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows-based computers.
  • Accuracy in typing at least 40 words per minute.
  • Sitting at a desk and viewing a display screen for extended periods of time.
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds.
  • Good hearing and vision.

Environment

Treatment program / hospital environment. Exposure to individuals who may be experiencing emotional distress or agitation. Possible exposure to clients with communicable diseases.
