About the role
Operation PAR, Inc. is a non-profit organization offering the full continuum of services for individuals with substance use and/or mental health disorders. PAR has been providing comprehensive behavioral health treatment in west Florida since 1970 through advocacy, education, clinical services, and research.
Responsibilities
- Develops, coordinates, and supervises all pharmaceutical services.
- Oversees compliance with all Federal and State laws regarding pharmaceuticals.
- Ensures patient safety and inventory control.
- Provides reports and maintains pharmacy licenses and permits.
- Holds best practices in areas regarding pharmacy issues.
- Local daily travel in personal vehicle to various facilities required in Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties.
- Rotational on-call requirements.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a degree in Pharmacy.
- Active Consultant Pharmacist license.
- One-year minimum experience as a consultant pharmacist. Addiction and/or mental health experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of State and Federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of cost effective measures in inventory control.
- Knowledge of best practices in substance abuse and mental health pharmaceutical uses.
- Knowledge of pharmacology to include the initiation, selection and the modification of selected drug regimen.
- Establishes and maintains effective positive, productive working relationships with other employees and the public.
- Responds in a courteous, pleasant manner and provides in-service education.
- Develops quality standards and reports and functions independently.
Skills and Abilities

Skills
- Ability to write accurately and legibly.
- Moderate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows-based computers.
- Accuracy in typing at least 40 words per minute.
- Sitting at a desk and viewing a display screen for extended periods of time.
- Bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds.
- Good hearing and vision.
Environment
Treatment program / hospital environment. Exposure to individuals who may be experiencing emotional distress or agitation. Possible exposure to clients with communicable diseases.
