Pharmacist, Outpatient - Pharmacy
Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center and consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.
The Outpatient Pharmacy department at Hawai‘i Pacific Health is committed to ensuring our patients receive the highest quality care and service. We are responsible for compounding and dispensing medications and supplies, as well as providing drug information and education. We strive to ensure our patients remain healthy by providing convenient access to safe and effective medication and offering expert advice. Our department partners with providers and other health care personnel in the hospitals and clinics to create a healthier Hawai‘i.
Responsibilities
- Compound and dispense medications and supplies.
- Administer immunizations.
- Supervise pharmacy staff while on duty.
- Manage, oversee, and operate all activities of the Outpatient Pharmacy department, including patient safety, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, customer service, personnel management, inventory management, loss prevention, financial profitability, and workflow management.
- Provide information concerning medications to other health professionals.
- Monitor the safe distribution of medications to patients.
Requirements
- Current Hawai'i Pharmacist License.
- Must obtain Immunization Certification through an accredited organization recognized by the Hawai'i Board of Pharmacy within three (3) months of hire.
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.
- Not on DEA excluded parties list.
Qualifications
- Minimum:
- Current Hawai'i Pharmacist License.
- Immunization Certification (obtained within three months of hire).
- Current American Heart Association BLS CPR card.
- Preferred:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
- One (1) year of outpatient pharmacy experience.
Pay
63.96 - 75.25 USD per hour. Rate of pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience and training, as well as internal peer equity.
