Pharmacist Intern Senior/OnCall/UKHC - Community Pharmacy and Ryan White Services

Job Summary

This position provides patient care in a fast-paced community pharmacy setting across multiple Lexington, KY locations, including KY Clinic Pharmacy, Bluegrass Clinic Pharmacy at the Beaumont Center location, and the Fountain Court Pharmacist Care Team. Student friendly positions have been developed to allow a flexible schedule and a variety of retail pharmacy experiences. The positions include drug distribution, data entry, non-sterile and sterile compounding, immunizations, and much more. Our Pharmacy Interns are key to identifying process improvements in the medication distribution process that align us with our quality improvement and safety initiatives. Our Pharmacy Interns support specialized programs including the Kentucky AIDS Drug Assistance Program, Ryan White Part C, Pharmacy Partners, and Mail Order services; and assist in our mission to ensure operational efficiency and high-quality customer service. This role requires flexible shift coverage including weekend and may include some holiday rotations during operating hours which may vary by location.

Key Requirements

• May involve repetitive motion activities and prolonged sitting or standing (often for 8–10 hour shifts), frequent walking, bending, and reaching.
• Physical Requirements: May involve lifting up to 25-50 lbs (stock/supplies), fine motor skills for handling small medication items, and clear communication/vision for patient dispensing and filling of prescriptions.
• Shift: Primarily covering shifts as needed including weekend shifts at the Community Pharmacy and Ryan White Services locations. Must be available to work during operating hours and days of operation which are subject to change based on location of assignment. Typical shifts will support late afternoon/early evening shifts. Some daytime shifts may be available. May be required to work on some holidays which currently are being rotated by Ambulatory Pharmacy Services staff. Some weekend shifts are an expected part of the assignment. Shifts may be at KY Clinic Pharmacy, Beaumont Clinic Pharmacy, and Fountain Court Pharmacist Care Clinic in the Lexington, KY area.

Preferred Education/Experience

• Retail and/or Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred.
