Pharmacist Intern - Outpatient - Per Diem - 140515
The Intern Pharmacist will integrate into the clinical, teaching, research, and distribution system for UC San Diego Health System and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. All job activities of the Intern will be under direct supervision of a Pharmacist.
- Assists the pharmacist in the preparation of medications for patient use (oral and parenteral) according to established procedures;
- Aid in the distribution of medications;
- Perform computer order entry, record keeping, and billing functions;
- Maintain inventory levels;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Will perform assigned operational duties in a scheduled area and assist pharmacists in completing medication orders and related distribution duties in the assigned areas.
Minimum Qualifications:
- California Board of Pharmacy Intern Pharmacist License.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service and counseling skills.
- Ability to operate computer systems.
- Proven teaching skills and writing skills, which can be applied to article publication in hospital newsletter and professional journal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
- Less than 6 months experience.

- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Hiring Pay Scale: $35.25 / Hour
Total Openings: 1
Work Schedule: Days, 8 Hour Shifts, Monday-Friday
Annual Full Pay Range: $60,448 - $84,564 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $28.95 - $40.50
