Description
The Pharmacist Internships at Nampa Medical Campus offer a supportive and mentoring environment for students to gain inpatient hospital pharmacy experience and pharmaceutical care.
HOURS / SHIFTS
- One 10-hour weekend shift a week
- One 10-hour weekend shift every two weeks
- Two 10-hour weekend shifts every two weeks
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be registered as an Extern / Intern by the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
- Gain a better understanding of inpatient hospital pharmacy operations and pharmaceutical care.
- Collaborate and develop relationships with practicing Pharmacists who will provide support and mentorship.
- Prepare and dispense medication orders per physicians’ request under the direction of a licensed pharmacist.
- Aid pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services that are within the state scope of practice for pharmacy interns.
- Ensure the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients. Assist the pharmacist in ensuring safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Contribute to the quality and effective operation of the department. Intervene and communicate effectively with the medical staff and other health professionals.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to create and foster a cooperative teamwork environment.
