Pharmacist - Inpatient Antibiotic Stewardship

About the role

Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, coordinates the activities of the pharmacy department to provide the highest quality of pharmaceutical services to the patient. The scope of patient care provided includes General Medicine/Surgical, Intensive Care Services, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Emergency Care, Geriatrics and Outpatient Services. Is responsible for the development and implementation of a facility-wide antibiotic stewardship program.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates pharmacy activities to ensure high-quality pharmaceutical services to patients.
• Develops and implements antibiotic stewardship program.
• Works with pharmacy, nursing, medical staff, and other hospital personnel.

Requirements

• Current license as a registered Pharmacist from the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy required.
• Previous hospital experience is preferred and should include knowledge of unit dose drug distribution, IV additive service, computer drug entry and profiles, and clinical experience as outlined.
• Ability to work effectively and tactfully with pharmacy, nursing, medical staff, and other hospital personnel preferred.
• Certification in infectious disease and/or equivalent experience required.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
• Experience: Previous hospital experience preferred.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of unit dose drug distribution, IV additive service, computer drug entry and profiles.
• Ability to work effectively and tactfully with pharmacy, nursing, medical staff, and other hospital personnel.
• Knowledge of antibiotic stewardship programs.
