Pharmacist in Charge - Long Term Care - Full Time

About the role

The Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) plays a vital role on the leadership team within the Omnicare Pharmacy and reports directly to the General Manager. The PIC supervises the dispensing pharmacy, monitors industry, regulatory, and compliance developments, communicates and educates staff on pharmacy-related issues, implements quality assurance programs, implements policies and procedures for the procurement, storage, security, and disposition of drugs and devices, maintains record of required pharmacist licensure & technician registrations, responds to the Board regarding any warning notices, implements policies and procedures for maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of prescription information and patient health care information, ensures pharmacy compliance with local, state, and federal accrediting rules and regulations, serves as a primary source of information and responds to internal and external customer questions or clarifications of information, and may perform various duties associated with narcotic room compliance.

Responsibilities

Requirements

Must be a licensed pharmacist in the state of Louisiana, must be active & in good standing, 1 year management experience in a Pharmacist in charge or Pharmacy Manager role, 1 year of pharmacist experience in a long term care dispensing role, Immunization certification or willingness to become immunization certified, Bachelors of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy.

Skills

Strong knowledge of pharmacy practices, regulations, and compliance requirements, strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with pharmacy software systems.

Pay

The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $51.06 - $81.13. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
