About the role
The pharmacist-in-charge (PIC) oversees the pharmacy operations in compliance with relevant pharmacy laws and manages the pharmacy staff.
Responsibilities
- Maintain professional image and excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues.
- Comply with HIPAA, FWA, Corporate Compliance, and state/federal laws.
- Lead the pharmacy team with empathy and compassion, fostering a positive team culture.
- Evaluate patient profiles, manage refills, and assist with drug copay cards.
- Contact prescribers for refill requests and initiate prior authorizations.
- Document notes and codes in patient records and other systems.
- Travel to other HopeHealth locations to coordinate patient care.
- Collaborate with other clinic or pharmacy team members on special projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm D required.
- Active Pharmacist license with the SC Board of Pharmacy.
- Immunization Certification through APhA.
- 3+ years of pharmacy management experience.
- Specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
- PioneerRx Software and ECW experience preferred.
