We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) to join our team at Lifeline Pharmacy. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and is familiar with pharmaceutical best practices.
Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions, compound, and sell pharmaceuticals, medicines, and related drug items.
- Maintain proper records for the purchase and dispensing of all prescription drugs, including controlled substances.
- Manage medication handling and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Remove misbranded, adulterated, outdated, or improperly labeled drugs from stock.
- Ensure proper storage of drugs to prevent loss or deterioration.
- Guarantee pharmacy coverage by licensed pharmacists.
- Prevent unauthorized refills of prescriptions and unauthorized sale of legend drugs.
- Secure the pharmacy’s dispensing and compounding area against unauthorized entry.
- Provide patient support and education, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure proper documentation.
- Perform all tasks expected of a licensed professional in this field.
- Maintain license status and continuing education credentials.
- Ensure no prescription drugs or devices are sold at wholesale without a New York State Board of Pharmacy wholesaler registration.
- Verify the pharmacy is properly registered and compliant with all laws, rules, and regulations.
- Issue verbal and written notices to employees regarding federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Oversee all day-to-day operations, including staffing, safety, and maintenance, while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Requirements
- Must hold a current state pharmacist license or degree.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed.
- A Pharm.D. (Doctor of Pharmacy) with immunization certification.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, full time (50 hours per week).
- Schedules are written in two-week increments and may fluctuate to accommodate staffing and days off for extended periods.
Pay
Bi-weekly pay at $55–60 hourly, based on experience.
