We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) to join our team at Lifeline Pharmacy. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and is familiar with pharmaceutical best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescriptions, compound, and sell pharmaceuticals, medicines, and related drug items.
  • Maintain proper records for the purchase and dispensing of all prescription drugs, including controlled substances.
  • Manage medication handling and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Remove misbranded, adulterated, outdated, or improperly labeled drugs from stock.
  • Ensure proper storage of drugs to prevent loss or deterioration.
  • Guarantee pharmacy coverage by licensed pharmacists.
  • Prevent unauthorized refills of prescriptions and unauthorized sale of legend drugs.
  • Secure the pharmacy’s dispensing and compounding area against unauthorized entry.
  • Provide patient support and education, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Perform all tasks expected of a licensed professional in this field.
  • Maintain license status and continuing education credentials.
  • Ensure no prescription drugs or devices are sold at wholesale without a New York State Board of Pharmacy wholesaler registration.
  • Verify the pharmacy is properly registered and compliant with all laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Issue verbal and written notices to employees regarding federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Oversee all day-to-day operations, including staffing, safety, and maintenance, while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Must hold a current state pharmacist license or degree.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed.
  • A Pharm.D. (Doctor of Pharmacy) with immunization certification.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, full time (50 hours per week).
  • Schedules are written in two-week increments and may fluctuate to accommodate staffing and days off for extended periods.

Pay

Bi-weekly pay at $55–60 hourly, based on experience.
