About the Role

The Pharmacist interprets, fills, and dispenses medications; provides patient education material and other pharmaceutical supplies following standard procedures and guidelines to fill prescriptions. They use pharmaceutical expertise for all ages of patients; assist in maintaining and routinely inspecting an adequate, secure, and properly stored stock of medications and supplies; perform therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM); and handle Sub Acute Care functions. The Pharmacist performs other clinical and non-clinical duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret, fill, and dispense medications and prescriptions.
  • Provide patient education material and pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Maintain and inspect an adequate, secure, and properly stored stock of medications and supplies.
  • Perform therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM).
  • Handle Sub Acute Care functions.
  • Perform other clinical and non-clinical duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a School of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Controlled substance registration required.
  • De-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days).
  • Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Shift is 2000-0730, 7-on-7-off.

Physical Demands

  • Moderately active work involving sitting with frequent requirements to move about the office, facility, and travel to another facility within the SRHS service area.
  • Exerting a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Repetitive motions: substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers while operating standard office equipment.
  • Ability to perceive sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Close visual acuity and the ability to adjust focus between a computer monitor and printed material.
  • Ability to be active for extended periods without undue fatigue.
  • Flexible working hours.
