Pharmacist (Full-Time)
Full-time, exempt position reporting to the Chief Operating Officer with direct supervision of Pharmacy Technicians. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:30 pm. Location is flexible across multiple sites.
About the role
The Pharmacist dispenses medications, provides patient education, collaborates with prescribing personnel to ensure suitability of medication, and checks for potential allergies, medical conditions, or other factors that could lead to adverse interactions.

Responsibilities
- Compound and dispense medications.
- Review prescriptions for accuracy and suitability.
- Check patient charts for allergies, medical conditions, and possible drug interactions.
- Educate patients on dosage, side effects, interactions, and proper storage (patient counseling).
- Order pharmaceutical supplies and monitor inventory.
- Recommend over-the-counter medications that complement prescribed therapies.
- Maintain patient records in compliance with all legal requirements.
- Collaborate with prescribing physicians and advanced practice providers to monitor, review, and evaluate medication effectiveness; suggest dosage or medication adjustments as needed.
- Administer immunizations to patients.
- Plan, implement, and monitor procedures for storing, labeling, handling, preparing, mixing, and dispensing medications in accordance with legal guidelines.
- Obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies.
- Refer patients to other health professionals when applicable.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy staff.
- Prepare and present reports to leadership and management.
- Adhere to HIPAA and privacy laws; uphold the highest level of confidentiality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
- Current BLS certification (required within first 90 days of employment).
- Valid North Carolina pharmacist license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands include frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling; frequent repetitive motions; continuous standing and walking; repetitive movement of hands and fingers (typing and/or writing); and lifting of greater than 50 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is low, consistent with that of a typical office.
