Pharmacist Correctional Health Service

Job Description

This role is responsible for filling prescriptions, preparing medicines, ordering/maintaining inventory, overseeing the work of our pharmacy technicians, externs and interns, reviewing and assisting with the pharmacy's different automations (DOSIS, Parata ATP2, and Pyxis ES).

This job as a pharmacist will perform duties in an institutional setting for Correctional Health Services.

Essential Job Duties

• A solid understanding of principles, theories, and practices of medicine.
• A knowledge of agency objectives, organization, structure and mission.
• An understanding of interactions and adverse reactions of drugs, medications and their dosage.
• Consultation and/or expert knowledge.

Supplemental Information

• An offer of employment will be contingent on the applicant successfully passing a DHHS background check, pre-employment drug testing, and a Utah Department of Corrections (UDC) background screening.
• Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc.
• Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc.
• Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
• Licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of Utah.

Qualifications

• Minimum or "day-one" qualifications: Active Licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of Utah.
• Pharmacist Controlled Substance License.
• You also must have no disciplinary or restrictions on your license to be considered.
• Previous experience.
• Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications: Master's Degree or PharmD Degree.
