Position Overview

The Pharmacist Consultant is a hybrid position responsible for supporting skilled nursing and long-term care facilities throughout the Central Valley Region. Qualified candidates must reside within the designated territory. This role requires monthly travel to assigned skilled nursing facilities to conduct on-site clinical consulting activities, including audits, regulatory inspections, medication regimen reviews, and controlled substance drug destruction as needed. Additional travel within the territory may be required to support client needs and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing
  • Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (such as APhA) is required
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory on a monthly basis
  • Strong knowledge of long-term care pharmacy regulations, medication management, and consultant pharmacy practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Doctorate
  • Current license required. Dual license preferred
  • One-year experience in acute, long-term care or home health preferred
  • Consultant or Clinical Pharmacist experience preferred
  • IV clinical experience preferred
  • Must be able to work weekends or outside of normal business hours when needed
  • Able to lift patient charts repetitively
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Good customer service skills
  • Ability to learn and understand state and federal regulations for long-term care
  • Understand of formulary management
