About the role

Responsibilities
- Provides top of scope pharmacy support utilizing evidence-based protocols and best practices to promote safety at the point of care
- Value and effectively partner with multidisciplinary team to achieve care outcomes
- Prioritize wellness, a patient perspective and evidence-based practice
- Model proficiency through precepting and mentoring those new to healthcare and/or UCHealth
- Welcome new knowledge in a fast-paced, innovative clinical environment
- Contributes proactively to solutions to secure safety and quality at point of care
- Ensure medications are prescribed, accurately dispensed, and administered according to best practices
- Provide drug information and counseling to patients and caregivers regarding medication use, accurate dosage, potential side effects, and administration instructions
- Stay current with updated medication formularies, new drug therapies, treatment protocols, and emerging medical research through continuous professional development and clinical education
- Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate collaborative care to ensure optimal outcomes
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of Pharmacy
- State licensure as a Pharmacist
- Any relevant life support certification as determined at position level
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of pharmacy experience
- Experience with oncology medications
Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of pharmacology and drug interactions
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR)
