What you will be doing
The Pharmacist at the Central Fulfillment (CF) site is responsible for conducting pharmacist verification in a closed-door pharmacy environment. The primary role is to ensure the accuracy and completeness of prescriptions in the Central Fill prescription filling system. The Pharmacist will serve as an advisor to the shift team and partner with the site PIC/General Manager to provide direction for the teams. They will work in accordance with the Board of Pharmacy guidelines. The Pharmacist will assist the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) with all quality assurance activities related to keeping patients safe and complying with all state and local regulations along with policies and procedures of the company. The position will be based in Ridgefield, WA. The shift arrangement is aligned to 1st Shift schedule (6:30 AM - 3:00 PM PST). A typical 40-hour workweek is expected. This is a salaried exempt position.
Main responsibilities
- Pharmacist verification of prescriptions.
- Supervision of pharmacy technicians' work as regulated by the Board of Pharmacy.
- Responsible for supporting the store pharmacy operation to achieve their planned business objectives.
- All activities related to the preparation, dispensing, and sale of prescription and pharmacy-related products.
- Assist the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) with developing and implementing CF programs to help meet sales objectives and increase prescription volume.
- Provide the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) updates on Pharmacy operations.
- Understand and comply with Best Practice Standards and execution by pharmacists' staff when the Pharmacist in Charge is absent.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal laws, and company policies and procedures.
- Aid in the training and development of pharmacy staff.
- Hold and maintain a clean pharmacist license in the home state.
- Must complete all required state, federal, and company training programs (i.e., HIPAA, CDR, I-Pledge, etc.).
- Confront complex pharmacy operational issues with situation-specific business solutions.
- Other duties as assigned concurrent with all applicable laws and regulations.

Required qualifications and experience
- B.S. or doctorate (PharmD) in pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy required.
- Licensed Pharmacist in the CF home state for a minimum of 1 year.
- A minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy experience or equivalent in a similar setting.
- Prior pharmacist experience within a retail or closed-door fulfillment setting preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to visit remote operations, business partners, and the General Office as needed.
- Technical experience: Process system experience (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen) preferred.
- Mail order and central fill pharmacy experience preferred.
- Knowledge of pharmacy systems and systems integration.
- Experience handling software and hardware in a warehouse environment preferred.
Physical requirements
- Willing and able to stand or walk at least 8 hours without reasonable accommodation.
- Willing and able to perform tasks which include pushing, pulling, grasping, bending, stooping, rotating, reaching, and lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Visual focus such as counting, observing, etc. is required consistently.
- Performing repetitive tasks up to 100% of the time.
