About the role

Weis Markets is looking for a dedicated professional to join our team at 601 Pleasant Valley Blvd. This role focuses on ensuring accurate prescription fulfillment, driving business growth, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions filled by completing Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance, in compliance with state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Build profitable business and script growth through recommended clinical programs, including immunizations, Medication Therapy Management (MTM), and other identified programs.
  • Align performance objectives with 7 key department metrics to measure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Assist in controlling inventories by tracking weekly sales, ordering pharmaceutical stock to meet customer demand, and maximizing profits.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including healthcare counseling and resolving medical-related issues.
  • Supervise Pharmacy Technicians and support staff, including training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Assume management responsibility for the entire pharmacy in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Maintain open communication with operations and pharmacy management to ensure pharmacy success.
  • Ensure appropriate security of the Pharmacy department and compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Handle and resolve customer issues, complaints, and questions to build trust and loyalty.
  • Interact with physicians and use reference materials to resolve prescription-related issues.
  • Maintain the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and organized.
  • Assist with ongoing training and development of department personnel to improve performance and reduce turnover.
  • Prioritize and complete Pharmacy Department tasks, including cycle counts, inventory management, and customer will-calls.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates.
  • Appraise associate performance and resolve complaints in accordance with Weis Markets policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS), Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.), or equivalent in Pharmacy.
  • Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (e.g., APhA).
