About the role
Weis Markets is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team at 237 South Mountain Blvd. This role focuses on ensuring accurate prescription fulfillment, driving business growth, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions filled by completing Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance, in compliance with state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Build profitable business and script growth through recommended clinical programs, including immunizations, Medication Therapy Management (MTM), and other identified programs.
- Align performance objectives with the 7 key department metrics to improve effectiveness and efficiencies within your control.
- Assist in controlling inventories by tracking weekly sales, ordering pharmaceutical stock to meet customer demand, and maximizing profits.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with medical-related issues and offering healthcare counseling.
- Supervise Pharmacy Technicians and support staff, including training, coaching, and performance management.
- Assume management responsibility over the entire pharmacy in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
- Maintain open communication with operations and pharmacy management to uphold pharmacy success.
- Ensure appropriate security of the Pharmacy department and compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.
- Handle and resolve customer issues, complaints, and questions to build trust and loyalty.
- Interact with physicians and use reference materials to resolve prescription-related issues.
- Maintain the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and organized.
- Assist with ongoing training and development of department personnel to improve performance, reduce turnover, and control labor costs.
- Prioritize and complete Pharmacy Department tasks, including cycle counts, inventory management, and customer will-calls.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and carry out responsibilities in accordance with Weis Markets policies and applicable laws.
- Interview, hire, train, direct, reward, and discipline associates; appraise performance; and resolve complaints.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BS), Doctoral degree (Pharm.D.), or equivalent in Pharmacy.
- Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (e.g., APhA).
