About the role
New closed-door pharmacy opening soon in Cook County, Illinois.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration.
- Ensure medications are accurately dispensed and properly labeled.
- Recommend therapy changes to physicians and facility staff when appropriate.
- Maintain customer databases including medical history, clinical information, and laboratory data.
- Investigate and resolve medication-related inquiries.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and healthcare team members regarding medication-related concerns.
- Supervise medication preparation and dispensing processes.
- Maintain controlled substance records for legal and inventory purposes.
- Ensure proper medication storage and security standards are maintained.
- Perform on-call duties when required.
Qualifications
- Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Illinois required.
- Long-Term Care pharmacy experience preferred.
- Previous experience in hospital, retail pharmacy, or related healthcare settings preferred.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Computer proficiency required.
- Framework / ECM software knowledge is a plus.

Pay
Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
Schedule
- Full-time schedule: 1st shift 8am-4:30pm Monday–Friday and every other weekend.
- 2nd shift 6pm-2:30am Monday–Friday and every other weekend.
- 3rd Shift 7on/7off 10 hour shift Monday-Sunday every other week.
